Last week, Kaiser Permanente donated to the International Healthcare Terminology Standards Development Organization its Convergent Medical Terminology (CMT) as an altruism to effect quicker Meaningful Use compliance by US healthcare providers.
The donation, lauded by HHS, will make it easier for healthcare providers to create standardized data for EHR’s and thus facilitate accurate health information exchange, the ultimate technological goal of the HITECH Act.
