Five days out from mid-term elections and -- if you can actually elude the redundant attack ads (just switch out any opponent’s name, regardless of party, and the hyperbolic/apocalyptic blah-blah-blah smears drone on without end) -- do you know where your healthcare reform legislation really is?
It’s not this blogs place or intent to pick sides or encourage opinion; only to present information from which readers can discuss and/or decide on HIT issues. So, here’s a link to a recent editorial by Henry J. Aaron in the New England Journal of Medicine that succinctly situates the fate of the ACA once the midterms are over. Fortunately, it comes void of the political hyperbole and sensationalism all too common to biennial Octobers, and is full of insight, logic, and thought-provoking what-ifs.
