CONVERT AD HOC APPLICATION IDs (APPLID) ON THE FLY!
By Marty Howard
Here’s a quick and handy way to copy an Ad hoc report, in an RCO environment, from
one Applid to another without having to recreate the whole report. Follow the steps below to
migrate an A2 report to a B1 report using the Ad hoc Report Wizard:
Select option M - Make new report from existing report
Enter the ad hoc report id you wish to copy (e.g., A2XXXX)
Enter the new ad hoc report name (e.g., NNNN)
Initiate test mode
Change %*NNAME to *$B1ZZZZ
Change %*NAPPL from A2 to B1 (optional step)
Step through the stack and allow Program $P=CHPPAH61 to execute. This will allow you to save
the adhoc as *$B1NNNN ( instead of *$A2NNNN).
Save the Ad hoc report and open it up again through option C - Change Existing Report
Verify that the database components you are using are applicable to the ad hoc unimap to which
you transferred the original report
