Changing Case for Soarian® Service Name Upload
By Rich Mach
The Soarian® Clinical Service Catalog is loaded by extracting items from INVISION® and, if available, LCR and CVE. In most cases, the names of the services you load into the CVE characters will have either mixed case or all caps. The data will be in all caps if you are pulling data straight from the INVISION® Service Master. In order to create a more aesthetically pleasing interface for the user, make sure all the service item names are in mixed case in Soarian®. A decision must be made at the very start of the project, prior to uploading any spread sheets being valued. All the analysts involved in the project must understand how the names should appear for a successful outcome.
If you decide on mixed case, it is necessary to change any data items pulled from the Service Master and CVE that are in all caps and revise them to “Title Case”. It can be done manually, but that takes a large amount of time; time you may not be able to spend on changing the case of the service names. However, there is a quick and painless way to change a whole group of services to mixed case at one time. Below is a step-by-step guide on changing case using Microsoft® office tools. This will help expedite the process of loading services into the upload spreadsheets, and help you maintain the user friendly look and feel of the Soarian® UI.
Start with a data downloaded to an Excel® spreadsheet from the Service Master and follow the steps below to change case in an Excel® spreadsheet.
